DEPARTMENT OF MECHANICAL ENGINEERING
Mechanical Engineering Department offers courses and laboratory training in the area suitable for the current need as per university syllabus. The department takes up technical problems of industrial as final year student’s projects and offers solutions. Many students projects received appreciations & awards from state and national bodies.
Having well qualified staff with teaching and industrial experience it has become possible to conduct extra classes to enhance student’s technical as well as the communication skills and recruitment opportunities.
Students will be encouraged to make the industrial visits time to time to study the work environment.

DEPARTMENTAL ACHIEVEMENTS:
- Dr. U.C. Kapale published research paper entitled ‘Modeling of single phase shell-side fluid heat transfer coefficient in shell-and-tube heat exchanger’ in International Journal of Dynamics of fluids.
- Mr. Shreyas Naikwade and Shital Bagane won second prize on topic “Multi-purpose fabrication Robot” in National Level Paper Presentation competition held at D.Y. Patil College of Engineering and Technology, Kolhapur on 1 st and 2 nd April 2010.
- Mr. Shreyas Naikwadi and group won the consolation prize in state level VTU Project Exhibition in SHRISTI-2010
- Mr. Shreyas Naikwadi and group secured First Place in the National Level Project Exhibition held at Maratha Mandal’s Engineering College, Belgaum on 13-5-2010.
- Mr. Abhijit Patil of 4 th Sem participated in “CROSS-OVER” held at TECHFEST 2010, IIT Bombay.
- Mr. Rahul Adi won 1 st prize in National level paper presentation contest held at HIT Nidasoshi on 1 st October 2009.
- Mr. Prashant Jadhav won 3 rd prize in National level paper presentation contest held at HIT Nidasoshi on 1 st October 2009.
- Mr. Rahul Motekar of 6 th Sem won the 3 rd prize in State Level VTU Judo competition.
- Mr. Sushant Vastrad of 6 th Sem won 3 rd prize in State Level VTU Yoga Competition.
- The project entitled “Heat Transfer Analysis in fluidized bed grassifire” done by Mr. Shital Patil and group is sponsored by KSCST, Bangalore.
